Here’s a little something for Throwback Thursday, a sweet surprise proposal. What do we think is the ultimate romantic gesture? A proposal, of course! So naturally, we were delighted when Andy asked us to be part of this magical surprise engagement, such an exciting moment for this loving couple.
Erika had no idea that Andy had contacted us in advance to help capture the moments that would unfold.

We watched, waiting and anticipating for all of Andy’s carefully planned details to come together. Finally, the moment arrived! Andy bent down on one knee, pulled out the ring, and uttered the four words that would make any girl weak in the knees. As you may have already guessed, she said “yes” and indeed there was a kiss to seal the deal. Erika was completely surprised, her expression was priceless and we were there to document the whole story.

You have implicit trust in your hair stylist- after all, you’ve relied on him/her for years.
But is your stylist a specialist in weddings?
Ask for a few pertinent questions before you find yourself in a hairy situation

1. Is your hair stylist experienced in the specific demands of a wedding day style? How many weddings does he or she do in a month?
2. Will your stylist come to your home on your wedding day? Some insist on a salon visit which adds extra stress for the bride.
3. Did your stylist warn you not to shampoo your hair on your wedding day? Your hair can be too soft and the style will have no staying power.
4. If you have fine hair, were you warned to stop using condition a week or more before your wedding? Silky hair is nice for the beach but hard to control for a long wedding day.
5. If you’re planning on adjusting the colour of your hair have you been advised to start experimenting six months before your wedding day?
6. Can you get a contract that spells out all the services being provided along with prices? It protects both you and the stylist.
7. Will one stylist come to your home or a stylist plus an assistant?
8. Have you enquired about usual tipping?
9. Is your stylist realistic and prompt about time? You need to schedule at least two hours for your hair and makeup.
10. Does the stylist have another client booked on your day?

Penny + Peter // Glen Abbey Golf Course Wedding

Hot days call for Hot brides and Grooms. This was the case for Penny and Peter’s wedding. As the heat turned up, their love and adoration for each other also went up a few notches. But after getting to know Peter and Penny from the eshoot and their wedding, we think they always are this way with each other. They are so lucky to be with someone they love so much and respect. All day it showed. We were so happy to capture their day, and get creative with them all over the Glen Abby golf course. It was great to see them enjoy driving their golf cart to our shooting locations, and their enthusiasm for great imagery was evident, for they kept up with us on this hot day. Glen Abby was good to keep us all hydrated as we went along.

Mark and I had an opportunity to sit with Peter’s family during dinner, and we were so touched at how loving his family was. We got along so well, and shared some good tales of the old countries, and really got to know them. Plus, we got some inside scoops on Peter. Lol. Congrat’s to Peter’s parents who celebrated their 49^th wedding anniversary. Penny+Peter’s 1 year anniversary will coincide with their 50^th anniversary next year, and there are plans to celebrate together in Hawaii. This was just the sweetest thing to hear. If you guys happen to need a photographer to document the trip, take us with you.

As the night progressed, the guests had a chance to get Penny and Peter to kiss, in a creative way. Lots of imagination was used. Then, once the music started, the crowd all headed to the dance floor and really enjoyed the attention from Kostelphoto. Everyone wanted to be in the images. The crowd had a great vibe, and we knew guests were having a great time. With Penny and Peter surrounded by loving family and friends, they continued to toast them all. We raise our glassed to you love birds too. May your future together be as fun, vibrant and lovely as you both. Your love shines and you are such wonderful people to be around. Your new family is a lucky world to be surrounded by. Enjoy your new lives together.
