Dad’s advice of “jump in with both feet and just do it” applied to such topics as getting engaged, married, buying a house, taking a dream trip and having kids etc. Mark & I are now proud parents of two. We had fears of it not being the right time etc but now I am so glad it just happened and these little angels are here with us. It’s not possible to describe how they make us feel or what they have added to our lives already. Yes it’s hard work but rewarding in unimaginable ways. They challenge us to be better providers, and role models. Children are entertaining, whimsical, imitators, curious, dependent yet have no fear to try new things, are so loving and basically are mini us : in a more naive carefree version. Children are our hopes of a great future.
If you are waiting for the perfect timing, right job,or ideal income you are just stalling and delaying a wonderful experiences. I will be honest and say its never the right “time”. But guess what – When you experience fear of some sort, it is a sure sign that you are pushing your boundaries and taking on a challenge. Fear equals learning. Learning is growth. And growth means becoming a better person and version of yourself. We have found that jumping in actually pushes us to do more and do better. The challenges make us stronger and we persevere through.
One might never reach the perfect financial scenario, ideal conditions and timing in our personal lives but our children will, and are the best gift we could have hoped and prayed for. They will love us and be our family no matter what our bank statement reads, what kind of home we own or What job we hold. As long as we have time to spend with them and enjoy them we are truly blessed. On that note, please enjoy this copious post of Marks more photojournalistic approach to birth of our boy. Ps. He really insisted on pics of actual birth, but realized that helping me to get through it with no epidural, morphine or any sedatives he hadn’t taken one frame :) Cheers!

Cloud Study and a Personal note

Cloud Study and a Personal note

What a wonderful day yesterday. Not sure if it was influenced by the fact it was my birthday, but I really couldn’t ask for a better day.
No work the whole day. A day off midweek. Why not? We can do it and thats how we roll! Can’t imagine a better job in the world
It all started with an unusual early wake up. Breakfast in bed…crepes (my favourite) to bootx1 :) Lana slept the whole night (in her crib) to bootx2 and the most amazing sunrise to bootx3!
A long walk along the lake was in order. Infact we walked till lunch, actually I was shooting along the way for a personal project to be revealed soon.
Then we were off to some yummy Greek with family, followed by bday shopping, you know gotta update the summer wardrobe, followed by meeting close friends for more food and good times.
I will seriously need to bike off those calories.
My iPhone was buzzing the whole day…. email, face book, twitter, sms, voice mails… seriously guys? You are all so amazing and thank you again for the well wishes. I had over 100 ppl leaving me love on face book :)
Thank you everyone, I really feel blessed to call so many of you my friends!

And what would be a blog post without an image. So here a shot that describes how I felt yesterday. Invigorated, rejuvinated, relaxed, humbled and free!

We bundled our little 7 month old Lana up good, from her head to toes, and then headed out the door into a snow covered world. We could tell that Lana was not really sure what to make of it all. We then placed her gently in a red sled and began pulling her through the white stuff. We did get some mini laughs out of her :) We walked down to the lake and of course, stopped to take some images of Lana’s first encounter with snow. Mark could not resist and even plunked Lana into a snow bank. Her first attempt at a snow angel, captured forever in images. Enjoy. Hope you had a chance to venture outdoors to make some images and memories too.
