Image, Emotion and the unknown…

right

I’ve been doing lot of post production from recently shot Weddings and sometimes one can get lost in the mundane work of culling, colour balancing, retouching and prepping images without much thought of what I was thinking artistically at the time when I composed the image and what emotion I wanted to evoke in the viewers eye. As an artist, I think that is one of the most important aspects of capturing the essence of your subject. Hence our slogan: The essence of elegance, the essence of you. And since we shoot primarily people in love, it is with utmost importance to capture the raw emotion of that millisecond and freeze in a single frame. Having the right light, lines, angle, apperture, shutter….et al., play a very important role in being able to make art. Art that people get. A feeling of emotion that one can relate to. So as I was polishing some images I came across this one below. I looked at for quite a long time and tried to figure out what exactly captivates my attention. I gave it a bit of a nostalgic feel, a little mistique of not being able to see the lady, just a pretty smile, a well dressed gentleman being very close to her. The lines of her spagetti string leading your eye away from the smile and back up the mans jacket make it a really well composed image at least in my eyes. So, next time you are photographing a Bride, a toddler, a family pet, think what it is you are trying to convey through your image and focus on the importance of your story telling. Sometime less is more, details unveil the underlying notion and hiding a part of the picture can lead to great imagination. Tell me what do you think?

I think you are a genius. In a time where so many may “think” that they do not possess the talent or creativity to envision the final product, art or what they are trying to create when taking a picture, you manage to take us to a new level and open our minds to our creative potential… :) We start taking “risks” and discover that the pictures and moments we capture are beautiful :)
    Cheers
