On May 30th, we had the pleasure to photograph the lovely Sheri and handsome Erik. They are such warm, genuine people and a true pair of love birds. We are so honoured to have captured the lovely day as it unfolded. It was full of weather drama, bright colourful pink dresses, and wonderful people.
It all started as Mark and I arrived to document the bride getting ready. But before Sheri dawned into her beautiful wedding gown, there was some celebrating to be had first. Champagne bottles were popped open, and lots of cheering occurred.
Once all ladies were dolled up and ready to go, we meet up with everyone at Glen Abby Oakville Golf Club. This truly high class venue where Sheri and Erik said their vows in front of family and friends outdoors suited the day to a “tee”. We know the Gods and those above were with us too, since the tent ruffled and rocked on numerous occasions. It was very touching to witness mother nature as Sheri started to speak her vows. A gentle reminder that “everyone” was actually present, and that brought a tear to her eye. The two love birds tied the knot, and overcome with joy and anticipation, the bride jumped her husband for the first kiss, which brought forward a giggle of joy from everyone. Ah…love! We love attending those madly, deeply and truly in love… Sheri and Eric have a deep passion for each other. We love to see it and document it.
As the evening progressed, there was a variety of rain, wind, sunshine, clouds rolling over the hills and even a rainbow smiled down on the happy couples day. The scenery was just gorgeous! Let this be a wonderful reminder to other brides and grooms, that different weather should be welcomed and not feared. It can lend itself to supply you with endless possibilities that will be just brilliant in the images created. I walked over to Erik to show him the amazing scenery from the full blown windows of the reception area during dinner. Erik with his appreciation for photography and light, made the connection that this was an amazing opportunity to take a few more photos during dinner. He ran for his tux tails jacket, and his lovely bride, to be ushered by us up the wonderful outdoor stairs to the top of the terrace with the most amazing view and sky. View the results yourself, and please never doubt your photographers when they say, lets go and do a few more. It’s well worth it and very magical to us to review these images. We also love the idea, that we managed to get the Bride and Groom away from the crowds to enjoy a little alone time together. After we took some images, we let them be in their own magical world of joy, alone together at last, before they headed back to their lovely celebration. We would love to give every bride and groom a moment of alone time, so they can soak up their surrounds, whisper words of love in each others ears, hug, kiss, and hold hands, as they walk back to their guests.
Love truly is a beautiful thing. And we saw lots of it on May 30th, 2009.

The bridal party and parents were led to a more private area of the Glen Abby Estate, as the rain held off. The backdrops of the estate was amazing, and we had everyone modeling and doing GQ poses. Oh, what fun! The group played the high roller part very well, and were a blast to photograph.

Deep below is a 50m well. Just kidding, the boys sure had some fun hanging out.

The desserts were super sweet and a sorbet to die for!

Check out the structure in the clouds. This is right after a downpour as the storm rolls away and a beautiful evening soft sunshine welcomes us.

Wow! The photos are awesome and I loved the video! My only complaint would be that Sheri’s dog got into the video but the parents of the groom didn’t! Seriously, our sonand now daughter-in-law have never looked happier. Thank you for capturing that for us. Is there any way we can get a copy of the video? Kristin
Beautifully captured! Love the emotion you brought to the photographs!
