Just few images of Point Pelee National Park from a recent trip. The biosphere is very much different than that of the Toronto. Sitting at 42nd parallel, it is the most southern point of Canada and on the same latitude as Northern California, Rome or Brussels. Its really fascinating that Ontario has such a geographical diversity from Carolinian Forests (very much like a dense tropical rain forest), through the Canadian Shield and Coniferous vegetation to Savannah like and Borealis forests. The interesting fact about Point Pelee is that an incredible number of different species use this point to congregate and migrate down south for winter. This also goes for insects and the Monarch butterflies. So if any of you are into Ornithology (watching and study of birds), or Entomology (insects) this is a place to be when they are migrating south in fall and returning in mid spring.
