An unexpected invitation was presented to me to attend the Learning Annex Expo and a keynote by Donald Trump in the VIP section. How could I refuse. Thanks Stefan and Anna-Lisa. As a sporadic fan of the Apprentice, and not too heavily invested in real estate wealth management, I was curious enough to see what Mr Trump can teach me
Pleasantly surprised, he is a good speaker, well articulated and his speech was based on lot of personal experiences, anecdotes and analogies. Standing 6’3” tall , yeah thats right (he just photographs shorter) started his speech with the recent controversy with Rosey O’Donnald and their public ridiculous. Further I learned that he does not have a hair piece or a wig and his hair is natural. He loves his women as it was evident when he randomly asked hot chicks to come to the stage so he could check them out or his numerous statements for his love for sex and the female form. He is a strong proponent of prenuptial agreements.
Aside that, he is a bit of rude and harsh entrepreneur which he claims is necessary to succeed in such business.
I did not take notes during the speech, so I will briefly summarize and paraphrase Mr Trumps “Secrets to Wealth” which most of us know, but perhaps do not practice as often as we should.
1. If you are working for a crappy boss, for no good money and you are not happy, you can always find a better Job.
2. If you DO NOT LOVE what you do, you will never excel at it and consecutively, will never make any money. Therefore it is “worth” to do what you love. If you love it, you will be motivated, you will work harder which in turn brings the bling bling.
3. He believes in LUCK! Some people just have a horse shoe up their …. and some don’t. It is also the right timing, place, decision and few other factors. He told a story of small underrated golfer, who has unexpectatly won a tournament. When asked how he did it, he commented that he worked very hard, and the harder he worked the LUCKIER he got! I thought that was very cute statement.

4. The people you surround your self with will determine how you perceive yourself and how motivated you are to succeed in life. That said, he was very blunt about loving to get together with “losers” as they have nothing to say and he can boast about himself endlessly. If he gets together with other millionaires, they all are competing for attention and boast about their success. Donald notes: “I get home after a dinner with a headache listening to those cocky bastards” Ha ha ha… I thought that was soo ironic.
5. Donald also told me, well he actually looked at me when he said: you must never give up and always follow your dreams. I told him that I will do exactly just that. Than I handed him my kostelphoto.com business card and he told me he would touch base with me later.
This reminds me of a story that Alex told me when she attended a Bryan Adams concert. He was on stage and turned towards the general direction where she was standing and waved. Well, Alex was under the impression that he was waving specifically to her and she proceeded to yell out that she loves him and waved right back at him, to only be filled with love and importance from Bryan.
Overall, Donald seems like a real guy who just made it big. Aside of little arrogance, which I believe comes from “the enjoyment of life” has confirmed that everyone is capable of something, you just need to put your mind and body to it.
cheers,
Mark
