…after a quick shower at home, picking up some personal artifacts I am back at St Joe’s with Anna and Lana. How funny does that sound 
Anna and Lana. Wow, yesterday was day 0, today is day 1. It feels like day 8. Everything is a blur. 6 hrs of sleep in past 36hrs, but so worth it.
This is just a prelude to a long, happy story that we will share with everyone soon. Interim here is two quick images from Lanas birthday! Happy birthday sweetheart

| Balgavy Family – Toronto Modern Lifestyle Photography | |
We were privileged to come out and take photo’s of Daniel, the new addition to the wonderful Balgavy family. From the moment we walked in the door of the beautiful home near Humber River, we were greeted with all smiles. Daniel is such a happy-go-lucky child, and his parents even shine with the same joy and excitement. The family was a pleasure to shoot and were even head out for some outdoor shoots despite the cooler spring like weather. Mark and I were thinking that we could all head out to a park, but the Balgavy family had a wonderful secret that they revealed to us….a stunning backyard that felt like it stretched out for miles! It felt like the country, yet so close to the city of Toronto. We were excited to shoot Daniel and his Family in the wonderful backyard. Daniel will make wonderful childhood memories here, along with Mom and Dad, and possibly even acquire a green thumb. We loved the cute little outfits Mom picked out for him – he looked like a little Parisian or at times as if he were from “old time” London, England. Here are a few images from that wonderful day. | Familia time – Toronto Beaches Photography | |
Make time to head out and create some fun, family images. It’s a great way to capture people, time and memories. It’s so easy, yet so many of us leave the house without our camera or don’t even bother taking it out of the case. We recommend everyone form a new habit, and take your camera with you and just shoot. Use whatever camera you have, because as Chase Jarvis says “the best Camera is the one you have with you”. If you have the eye for imagery, you can make magic happen with any camera (even your phone camera, or a point & shoot). Just use it. If you really feel you don’t have “a good eye”, realize that practice can only make you better. Also, you can study other people’s work, take a class/course or just ask people for opinions on how to improve. Just make sure you get out there and capture the important people, places and events in your life. Your family will appreciate it, and so will you, down the road. Most importantly, have fun!

| Baby Sasha – Burlington Newborn Photography | |
In Nature, spring signals new life. The flowers start to bud, the birds start to nest and the bee’s even start to buzz. And with Spring finally here, we have noticed a raised interest in baby photo sessions and family sessions. Also, everyone likes to finally unbundle or shed their winter wardrobe in exchange for lighter wear. The daylight even lasts longer, making it more convenient for some nice outdoor shots.
The other day Baby Sasha’s parents gave us a call, and we had a great spring baby shoot. This little angel was actually born ahead of schedule and his loving parents wanted to document their new addition to the family. It turned out that the photo session ended up being on the original planned due date. Baby Sasha was so good, made great expressions, and even let us photograph his little feet and hands. He really was so tiny + sweet + cute. You could feel everyone’s admiration for the little baby and all the love. That’s what spring is all about…the enjoyment of new life and the love. Enjoy.

Lately we have been doing lot of formal and informal shoots. Some corporate work and some modern lifestyle portraiture. When we parnered up with Safina of FaithStyle and Nicole from Peachgloss to shoot Style Series 2010, we were expecting to do a very formal basic portraiture for marketing and branding purposes for these lovely ladies. But you know us, we can’t never stick with the traditional and always assert our creative angle. When we scoped the private members club The Spoke Club, we found half a dozen awesome locations with great light to shoot in. | KostelPhoto in action during an Engagement Photo Session | |
Mark and I were just reminiscing of past fun e-shoots and we came across this VIDEO which portrayed what a couple can expect during a Kostelphoto e-shoot. I personally really love how it captures one of our favourite couples in love and displays KP in action as well as our great fine art images. Mark can be seen in action several times which shows how involved we get with our couples. We are not afraid to run, jump and get in to the action (definitely we get into what we do). The video gives our future couples, a sense of the time we invest in planning the locations and making sure our couples have a variety of images and diverse backdrops all while having fun. Jen and Davide were great sports, since we took them to Forks of the Credit river, where we shot at a water fall, train tracks, small village, Badlands and even in the ruins of a country barn. Because we got to know them so well, we even incorporated their talents (can you tell Jen is a nurse and Davide loves repairing cars?). Thanks to BluPearl Media Films for coming along and capturing it all on video. When booking e-shoot sessions with Kostelphoto, couples will really get a personalized session that has them getting familiar with what to expect. So on the big Wedding date, you will be so comfy with us around. We provide an experience during our e-shoots. We just don’t want a few great shoots, we want a bunch! Recently we had the pleasure to document little William, his mom Maria and dad Andy. Undeniably proud parents of such a cutesie pie William was very sweet and mostly cooperative for the whole session.
Although with trepidation, we love baby photography. Much planning, patience, set up and more patience is required. However the images are priceless, as babies grow so fast.
